Drawing upon my varied design and teaching career, I am now offering a range of creative cake classes and parties.

My background is in Art and Design, from leaving school to gaining my Masters at the London Institute. After a varied career from gallery work to prop and set design for TV, I moved into teaching as Head of Art at a high school. I have always loved baking and have baked and decorated cakes for family and friends since I was about 10. Having my own children gave me even more scope for creating special cakes and as soon as I started sharing photos, the demand for my cakes went from a hobby to something more professional.

I am mainly self-taught, often translating my traditional art skills into working with sugar paste or painting onto cakes. I enjoy learning and sharing new techniques and I find that each new cake gives me the chance to challenge myself and broaden my decorating skills.

Sugar Buttons Cakes is a fully insured and registered home based food business with full hygiene certification. I am passionate about baking and use quality ingredients such as local free range eggs in all my freshly baked cakes.

Classes and parties are held in my newly renovated kitchen close to Norwich city centre with plenty of free parking.


In November 2012 I was diagnosed with Coeliac disease so I am constantly experimenting with gluten free recipes. See my Facebook page, Instagram feed and Blog for updates on gluten free products. Almost all of my cakes are able to be modified to accommodate various allergies or intolerances.
